Clinical Assistant Professor of Exotic Animal Medicine

Dr. Thielen is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor at Cornell College of Veterinary Medicine in New York, within the section of exotic animal medicine. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in avian practice. She graduated from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine followed by an internship at Broward Avian and Exotic Animal Hospital in Florida and then residency at the Veterinary Center for Birds & Exotics in New York. After her training she was the founding Medical Director of Texas Avian & Exotic Hospital in Grapevine, Texas. She serves as an adjunct professor for University of Miami, providing clinical pathology case consultations. Dr. Thielen is featured on the television shows “Dr. T, Lone Star Vet” and “Dr. K’s Exotic Animal ER” on NatGeo WILD, her platform for teching the public about the possibilities of exotic animal veterinary care.
