Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine
I received by DVM, PhD and Clinical Pathology residency training at the Ohio State University. After that, I was a small animal primary care and emergency veterinarian in Burlington Vermont for two years. I was on faculty at Tufts University for 5 years before spending 15 years at the University of Minnesota, running the clinical pathology laboratory, teaching veterinary students and residents, and doing clinical research. While there, I supervised a student run outreach clinic in an underserved community in Minneapolis in collaboration with a local faith-based group and I worked with another student organization to provide primary care for indigenous communities in norther Minnesota. Since 2017 I have been the Chair of the Clinical Sciences Department at Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University, where I continue to teach, do research, and serve as a clinical pathologist to the clinical units. I have three adult children, one granddaughter, two dogs, an 18 year old cat, and 14 chickens.
