The goal of this lecture is to teach the general practitioner the various dermatology diagnostics, from the minimum database (cytology, skin scrape, DTM) to some of the more commonly used advanced diagnostic tests (biopsy, cultures, dermatophyte PCR, etc.). We will discuss when and why certain tests will be used as well as how to obtain samples for the different diagnostics.
