Disaster response, whether it be in urban or rural areas is not the same as practicing medicine outside - there are a number of important differences in case triage and decision making, need for implementing decon, and the challenges of euthanasia in a disaster environment. This session will cover a wide variety disaster field experiences to help the learner understand the unique differences in triage, medical decision making, and euthanasia that are essential components of a disaster response and that can be difficult for inexperienced personnel.
