Dr. Kevin Washburn received his DVM degree from Oklahoma State University in 1993. Following five years of private practice, he returned to academia and completed a residency in Large Animal Internal Medicine (2000). He was awarded board certification in Food Animal Practice by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (1999) and Large Animal Internal Medicine by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (2002). Following four years as an assistant professor of Food Animal Medicine at Oklahoma State University, he joined the faculty at Texas A&M University in 2005. He is currently a Professor and teaches Food Animal Medicine didactically and clinically during all years of the veterinary curriculum at Texas A&M University.
Specific interests include clinical pharmacology, small ruminant infectious disease (primarily caseous lymphadenitis), cattle lameness, early detection of bovine respiratory disease and porcine medicine.
