Hill's Pet Nutrition Professional Consulting Veterinarian
Dr. Steve McCauley graduated from LSU(Geaux Tigers) with a degree in veterinary medicine in 1985. After graduation, he relocated to Florida and opened a mixed animal practice. During this time Dr. McCauley also began teaching at Saint Petersburg College Veterinary Technology program and helped start and accredit the first distance education program in the country for veterinary technicians. Eventually, the practice grew, relocated and a new facility was built in Tarpon Springs, Florida, where he lived attached to the veterinary hospital for 27 years. The practice sold in 2012, and he obtained a job with Hills as a Professional Consulting Veterinarian, and relocated to Terrell, Texas, which is a small town South East of Dallas. This change allowed him to move back home being originally from East Texas and
born in Tyler. Dr. Steve enjoys working, motorcycles, hydroponic vegetable gardening, and playing guitar in a couple Christian rock bands. He has one son, Dr. Steve Jr., who is currently a human emergency medicine doctor at a hospital in Winter Haven, Florida . Dr. McCauley and his wife Tammy are currently owned by their Shih tzu named Harry, but being a “softy” (Tammy) and a veterinarian,(Dr. Steve, ok…..maybe a little soft), this number could change at any given moment.
