Pat grew up on a small farm in Missouri and graduated from Northeast Missouri State University with an Associates degree in Animal Health Technology. She started her career by working in small animal and emergency medicine, then became an instructor for veterinary assistants and technicians in Denver, CO. Her dog, Tony fractured his lower canine tooth, requiring root canal therapy. Thus, developed her special interest in veterinary dentistry, which she pursued by becoming a credentialed Veterinary Technician Specialist in Dentistry in 2007. She was elected to the board of the Academy of Veterinary Dental Technicians, where she served as President-Elect and President. In 2009, she was profiled on the cover of Veterinary Technician magazine. She worked at the University of Pennsylvania’s Veterinary Hospital, for 3 years, instructing veterinary students in appropriate dental techniques. She lectures extensively and presents dental wet labs at local and national conferences. She has authored many dental related articles and contributed to the text: “Small Animal Dental Procedures for Veterinary Technicians and Nurses”. She worked as a veterinary dental technician at a dental specialty veterinary practice in Maryland for the last 12 years. Since founding her consulting business, March Veterinary Dental Consulting, she does in-clinic dental training full time.
