I am originally from Texas and attended Texas A&M University for a BS in Biomedical Science and minor in Animal Science. I then moved north to Cornell University for my DVM degree. Following this, I moved back closer to home for an internship and residency at Louisiana State University in equine internal medicine, obtaining DACVIM (LAIM) certification. During this time, I also began research and recently completed my doctoral degree in Biomedical and Veterinary Medical Sciences. The topic of my dissertation was the pathophysiology of equine glandular gastric disease with specific investigations into the role of the mucosal microbiome and bile acid reflux.
