This series of 3 sessions will utilize a series of cases to reinforce principals of the problem-oriented approach to diagnosis. A practical approach to diagnosis and staging common feline and canine acquired heart diseases will be highlighted with emphasis on navigating budgetary restrictions. These sessions will highlight incorporation of information gleaned from the history, presenting complaint and signalment in establishing an appropriate practical diagnostic plan. The available diagnostic tests will be interpreted with input from attendees. Once a diagnosis has been reached, a treatment plan will be discussed as well as appropriate follow-up recommendations and overall prognosis. These sessions are intended to be interactive and lead to discussion surrounding the challenges associated with management of common feline and canine heart diseases.
