As the saying goes cats are not just small dogs. Feline patients come with their own set of anesthetic considerations from their behavior, size, metabolism, and underlying diseases. Knowledge and preparation can allow veterinary professionals to anticipate and reduce complications associated with anesthesia thereby reducing the morbidity and mortality rates associated. This presentation will discuss common feline considerations with patient assessment, airway management, monitoring, perioperative complications, and recovery.
