Semen Processing and Preservation for Artificial Insemination

This lecture will discuss current concepts of semen processing for cooled storage or cryopreservation in stallions. Topics related to intra-stallion variation on sperm quality after cooled storage or freezing/thawing, techniques to enhance sperm quality and fertility potential with cool-stored or frozen/thawed semen, and the use of cool-stored or frozen/thawed sperm for assisted reproductive technologies (i.e., ICSI) will be addressed.
